Other Info
| Matsui Chozaemon Shuichi was a tsuba maker active in Nagato Province in the mid-Edo period, and created round tsuba with openwork floral patterns like this one. This tsuba was intricately crafted, with a long inscription on the front that reads "Matsui Chozaemon, Hagi resident of Choshu [長州萩住 松井長左右門]" and on the back that reads "Made by Shuichi [周一作]". It has passed the Hozon Toogu shinsa in 2008. |
